Who is Shiva...??
Shiva is a Sanskrit word which means welfare or benefactor. Shiva is cited to be peace bringer in Yajurveda. Shi- means destroyer of sins, while Va- means giver, that is, giver. Shiva has two bodies. One is that which is expressed in the gross form, the other that which is known as the latent gender in the subtle form. Shiva is worshiped the most in the form of a stone in the form of a linga. There is a lot of confusion about the word gender. Linga in Sanskrit means sign. In the same sense it is used for Shivling. The meaning of Shivalinga is Shiva i.e. Param Purush's coordinated-sign with nature.
Shiva, Shankar, Mahadev...
The name of Shiva is associated with Shankar, people say- Shiv Shankar Bholenath. In this way, many people unknowingly describe Shiva and Shankar as two names of the same entity. In fact, the statues of both are of different shapes. Shankar is always shown as an ascetic. In many places, Shankar is shown meditating on Shivling. Shiva has created three subtle deities namely Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Mahesh is also the name of Shankar) respectively for the establishment, sustenance and destruction of the universe. Thus Shiva became the creator of the universe and Shankar was one of his creations. Lord Shiva That is why he is also called Mahadev. Apart from this, Shiva is also known and worshiped by 108 other names.
Why Ardhanarishwar...???
Shiva is also called Ardhanarishvara, it does not mean that Shiva is only half man or there is no perfection in him. Actually, it is Shiva who is complete even though he is half. The basis and creator of this universe, that is, men and women, are the manifestations of Shiva and Shakti. By their union and creation, this world is governed and balanced. Both are complementary to each other. Woman is nature and man is man. Purusha is useless without nature and nature without man. Both have an interdependent relationship. Ardhanarishvara Shiva is a symbol of this reciprocity. The emphasis on equality of men and women in modern times can be seen and understood very well in this form of Shiva. It tells that Shiva becomes capable only when he is empowered. In the absence of Shakti, instead of Shiva, the body remains.
Mahamrityunjaya Mantra
The devotee of Shiva is neither afraid of death, nor of disease, nor of grief. The Shiva element gives their mind the power of devotion and power. Meditation of Shiva element is done through Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. By chanting this mantra one gets the blessings of Lord Shiva. In the scriptures, this mantra has been described as a preventer of many troubles.

Gist ---
We worship Lord Shiva, who has three eyes, who radiates life force in every breath and sustains the whole world, we pray to him to free us from the shackles of death, so that we can attain salvation. be attained, in the same way as a melon, having ripened in its vine, becomes free from the bondage of that vine-like world.

शिव कौन हैं...??
शिव एक संस्कृत शब्द है जिसका अर्थ कल्याणकारी या उपकारी होता है। यजुर्वेद में शिव को शांतिदूत माना गया है। शि- का अर्थ है पापों का नाश करने वाला, जबकि वा- का अर्थ है दाता, यानी दाता। शिव के दो शरीर हैं। एक वह है जो स्थूल रूप में अभिव्यक्त होता है, दूसरा वह जो सूक्ष्म रूप में गुप्त लिंग के रूप में जाना जाता है। शिव को सबसे अधिक लिंग के रूप में पत्थर के रूप में पूजा जाता है। लिंग शब्द को लेकर बहुत भ्रम है। संस्कृत में लिंग का अर्थ है चिन्ह। उसी अर्थ में इसका उपयोग शिवलिंग के लिए किया जाता है। शिवलिंग का अर्थ होता है शिव यानी प्रकृति के साथ परम पुरुष की समन्वित-चिह्न।
शिव, शंकर, महादेव...
शिव का नाम शंकर से जुड़ा, लोग कहते हैं- शिव शंकर भोलेनाथ। इस प्रकार, बहुत से लोग अनजाने में शिव और शंकर को एक ही इकाई के दो नाम बताते हैं। दरअसल दोनों की मूर्तियां अलग-अलग आकार की हैं। शंकर को हमेशा एक तपस्वी के रूप में दिखाया गया है। कई जगहों पर शंकर को शिवलिंग का ध्यान करते हुए दिखाया गया है। शिव ने ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और महेश (महेश भी शंकर का नाम है) नामक तीन सूक्ष्म देवताओं को ब्रह्मांड की स्थापना, पालना और विनाश के लिए बनाया है। इस प्रकार शिव ब्रह्मांड के निर्माता बने और शंकर उनकी रचनाओं में से एक थे। भगवान शिव इसलिए उन्हें महादेव भी कहा जाता है। इसके अलावा शिव को 108 अन्य नामों से भी जाना और पूजा जाता है।
अर्धनारीश्वर क्यों...???
शिव को अर्धनारीश्वर भी कहा जाता है, इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि शिव केवल आधे पुरुष हैं या उनमें कोई पूर्णता नहीं है। दरअसल, शिव ही हैं जो आधे होते हुए भी पूर्ण हैं। इस ब्रह्मांड का आधार और निर्माता, यानी पुरुष और महिला, शिव और शक्ति की अभिव्यक्ति हैं। उनके मिलन और निर्माण से यह दुनिया शासित और संतुलित है। दोनों एक दूसरे के पूरक हैं। नारी प्रकृति है और पुरुष पुरुष। प्रकृति के बिना पुरुष और मनुष्य के बिना प्रकृति बेकार है। दोनों का अन्योन्याश्रित संबंध है। अर्धनारीश्वर शिव इसी पारस्परिकता के प्रतीक हैं। आधुनिक समय में स्त्री और पुरुष की समानता पर जोर शिव के इस रूप में अच्छी तरह से देखा और समझा जा सकता है। यह बताता है कि शिव तभी सक्षम होते हैं जब वे सशक्त होते हैं। शक्ति के अभाव में शिव के स्थान पर शरीर बना रहता है।
महामृत्युंजय मंत्र
शिव भक्त को न मृत्यु का भय है, न रोग का, न शोक का। शिव तत्व उनके मन को भक्ति और शक्ति की शक्ति देता है। महामृत्युंजय मंत्र से शिव तत्व का ध्यान किया जाता है। इस मंत्र का जाप करने से भगवान शिव की कृपा प्राप्त होती है। शास्त्रों में इस मंत्र को अनेक कष्टों का निवारण करने वाला बताया गया है।
यह मंत्र इस प्रकार है...
ॐ त्र्यंबकम यजामहे, सुगंधि पुष्टिवर्धनम्। उर्वरुकमिव बन्धनत, मृत्योमुखिया ममृतत।
सार ---
हम भगवान शिव की पूजा करते हैं, जिनके तीन नेत्र हैं, जो हर सांस में जीवन शक्ति को विकीर्ण करते हैं और पूरे विश्व को धारण करते हैं, हम उनसे प्रार्थना करते हैं कि हमें मृत्यु के बंधन से मुक्त करें, ताकि हम मोक्ष प्राप्त कर सकें। जिस प्रकार खरबूजा अपनी लता में पककर उस लता जैसी दुनिया के बंधन से मुक्त हो जाता है।
