होली वसंत ऋतु में मनाए जाने वाले भारतीय और नेपाल के लोगों का एक महत्वपूर्ण त्योहार है।
दोस्तों रंगों का त्योहार कहे जाने वाले इस त्योहार को पारंपरिक रूप से दो दिनों तक मनाया जाता है। यह भारत और नेपाल में प्रमुख रूप से मनाया जाता है। यह त्यौहार कई अन्य देशों में भी धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है जिनमें अल्पसंख्यक हिंदू भी रहते हैं। इस दिन को मुख्य रूप से धुलेंडी और धुरदी, धुरखेल या धुलीवंदन के नाम से जाना जाता है।
दोस्तों ऐसा माना जाता है कि होली के दिन लोग पुरानी कड़वाहट को भूलकर फिर से दोस्त बन जाते हैं। और फिर से दोस्त बन जाओ। और एक दूसरे को मिठाई खिलाएं।
साथियों, राग-रंग का यह लोकप्रिय पर्व बसंत ऋतु का दूत भी है। राग यानि संगीत और रंग न केवल इसके मुख्य अंग हैं, बल्कि रंग-बिरंगे यौवन के साथ जो प्रकृति उन्हें अपने चरम पर ले जाती है, वह भी इस समय अपने चरम पर है। फाल्गुन मास में होने के कारण इसे फाल्गुनी भी कहते हैं।
दोस्तों होली के त्योहार की शुरुआत वसंत पंचमी से होती है। इसी दिन से 'फाग' और 'धमर' के गायन की शुरुआत होती है। बगीचों में फूलों की आकर्षक छटा है। गेहूं की गांठें खेतों में घूमने लगती हैं।

ऑस्ट्रेलिया
दोस्तों ऑस्ट्रेलिया के लोग बड़े ही धूम-धाम से होली की तरह वॉटरमेलन त्यौहार मनाते हैं। इस दिन रंगों को एक-दूसरे पर फेकने की जगह वॉटरमेलन से तैयार पेस्ट को एक-दूसरे पर फेक कर सेलिब्रेट करते हैं।
रोम
दोस्तों रोम में भी होलिका दहन की तरह एक कार्यकरम का आयोजन होता है। इस दिन लोग नाचते-गाते हैं और एक-दूसरे के साथ खूब एन्जॉय करते हैं। हालांकि, कहा जाता है कि रोम में भारत की तरह रंगों के साथ होली नहीं खेला जाता है लेकिन, होलिका दहन के दिन खूब मस्ती और धमाल करते हैं।
दक्षिण कोरिया
दोस्तों भारत एक ऐसा देश जहां होली के दिन कई शहरों में कीचड़ फेकर भी होली का त्यौहार मनाया जाता है। इसी तरह दक्षिण कोरिया भी एक ऐसा देश है जहां होली की तरह मड फेस्टिवल मनाया जाता है। हर साल जुलाई में यहां के लोग एक-दूसरे के ऊपर रंगों की जगह पर कीचड़ फेकर सेलिब्रेट करते हैं।
अमेरिकी रंग
दोस्तों होबो यानि अमेरिका में मनाई जाने वाली यह होली हर साल 31 अक्टूबर को मनाई जाती है। दोस्तों, गलियों में लोग नाचते गाते हैं, दंगा करते हैं और हैरानी की बात यह है कि जो लोग सबसे अधिक हलचल मचाते हैं, उन्हें पुरस्कृत भी किया जाता है।
म्यांमार का जल उत्सव
साथियों, म्यांमार में होली मनाने का तरीका और उसका उद्देश्य थोड़ा अलग है, क्योंकि स्थानीय लोग भी इस दिन अपने द्वारा किए गए बुरे कर्मों का पश्चाताप करते हैं। दोस्तों इस दिन लोग पिंजरे में बंद पक्षियों की पूजा भी करते हैं और उन्हें मुक्त भी करते हैं।
